What are important factors when choosing a professional pest management company?

There are many important factors to consider when choosing a pest management company including:

• Licensing - First and foremost, make certain that the company you choose is a state licensed pest management company.

• Reputation - It is important to ask for references. References can provide valuable insight into a companies level of professionalism, ethics and expertise. Can your pest management company provide names of existing, satisfied customers?

• Knowledge - Ask questions. How knowledgeable are the service technicians regarding your specific pest problems? Do they have answers to your questions?

• Service - What is most important to you when it comes to service? Does the company offer services that meet your needs such as Eco- and Bio-friendly approaches to pet management and prompt and courteous service?

I am concerned about the health of my family. What are my options regarding Eco- and Bio-friendly approaches of pest management?

Our service philosophy implements the concepts of Integrated Pest Management in our approach that considers all reasonable methods to avoid pest problems. It is a process that balances the use of cultural, biological and chemical procedures to eradicate or reduce pests to tolerable levels. IPM allows for a significant reduction in the use of pesticides.

Are there steps I can take on my own to eliminate and control unwanted pests in my home or business?

Yes. There are steps that everyone can take to eliminate and control unwanted pests in their homes and businesses.

• Food Clean Up Is a Must! Its a known fact that if food mess and residue is left behind, pests and rodents will soon follow. Be sure to stow food away properly and clean away crumbs. Leaving dishes in the sink over night can eventually lead to unwanted pests.

• Eliminate running, dripping or standing water in the home. Bugs and rodents need water just like we do. Making sure they do not have a source of water can help prevent them from setting up camp.

• Insulate and barrier proof your home to create a barrier against external invasion. Simple do-it-yourself steps such as filling foundation and exterior wall cracks and crevices can help to keep pests from ever entering your home.

• Schedule regular maintenance check-ups to ensure that pest problems do not go unchecked. All it takes is a once yearly home or business evaluation to ensure that your home and / or business is protected against pest infestation and the resulting damage and hazards associated with pest problems. Prevention is the number one way to keep your home, business and family healthy and protected.

Following these simple four steps can help eliminate and control unwanted pests in your home. In some cases however even the strict adherence to these rules is not enough. When that is the case, scheduling a visit with a pest management expert can solve your pest problems. Check out of Pest Prevention Tips for addtional informtion!
